If you are age 65 or older, you have an increased risk of developing Pneumococcal disease, which can cause pneumonia, ear infections and sinus infections.

Rapid Medical Research is looking for volunteers for a paid research study of an investigational vaccine to protect against pneumococcal disease.

If you are age 65 or older and meet the following criteria, you may be eligible to participate.

  • Are in good health
  • Have not previously received any pneumococcal vaccine
  • Have no history of invasive pneumococcal disease or impairment of immunological function
  • Have no hypersensitivity to any component of pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccines, pneumococcal conjugate vaccines, or any diphtheria toxoid-containing vaccines
  • Are not currently taking any medicines that lower your body’s immune function, including steroids

Qualified participants will receive:

  • the study-related vaccine and exams at no cost and
  • compensation up to $175 for time and travel
